This comfortable, home-like environment transformed a sun baked and wind swept rooftop terrace into a welcome outdoor respite for the patients, families and friends of the pediatric wing of Good Samaritan Hospital in East Islip, NY.  The garden’s ease of access, bright colors, extensive greenery and familiar materials provides a safe, nurturing and familiar place in contrast to the often strange, uncomfortable and unfamiliar hospital environment.
